This session was one of my favorites. Baby girl looked absolutely adorable in her little blue jumper, wrapped in soft blankets and sweetly nestled into a basket. The soft, natural light made everything feel calm and timeless — exactly how these moments should be remembered.

But beyond the sweetness, I know a lot of new parents have questions when it comes to newborn photos — so let’s chat about it!

Do I really need newborn photos?

In short — yes, you’ll want them more than you realize.

Those first days go by in the blink of an eye. Between feedings, naps, and figuring out your new rhythm, it’s easy to forget how tiny they were.

Newborn photos help you pause time and hold onto the moments that pass too quickly — the wrinkly fingers, soft yawns, and the way they fit perfectly in your arms.

They’re more than just pictures — they’re your baby’s first story.

Are newborn photos worth it?

Absolutely! These images become family treasures — the ones you’ll look back on and say, “Remember how tiny she was?”

Newborn photography isn’t just about capturing how they looked, but how it felt to hold them in those first few weeks.

It’s an investment in memories that will mean more and more with time.

Do newborn photos have to be done in a studio?

Not at all! While studio sessions can be lovely, they’re not the only way to capture your baby beautifully.

This session proves that natural light newborn photography — either outdoors or at home — can be just as stunning. The soft light, cozy textures, and relaxed atmosphere create photos that feel real and full of heart.

Outdoor newborn sessions in Weber County are some of my favorites. The mountains, open fields, and golden-hour light add such warmth and charm — it’s the perfect mix of peaceful and personal.

The best time for newborn photos is within the first two to three weeks after birth, when your baby is still sleepy and snuggly. But don’t worry — every baby is different, and your session will move at their pace.

Whether you’re dreaming of a soft, cozy in-home shoot or a sunlit outdoor session, I’d love to help you capture this season before it slips away.
